Project Synopsis
The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society battles against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call for Murder at Haversham Manor with hilarious consequences. Laugh out loud at the West End’s longest running comedy with its beautiful blend of over the top characters all rolled into a farcical, physical comedy for the ages!
Additional Information & Safety Protocols: 

The Play That Goes Wrong is a physically demanding show. This play requires that you be comfortable performing the technical tricks/stunts that are part of the show. Most roles will require varying amounts of crawling, climbing up and down a ladder, lifting, running, and/or falling.

Ethno-cultural casting statement: We encourage submissions from artists with a broad range of backgrounds including, but not limited to: race, ethnicity, indigeneity, gender, body type, and sexuality. We encourage anyone to audition for any role as we will be casting on who is best for the role.

Requirements: Metro Theatre is cooperative member based society, we require that all cast and crew become members upon being cast in the production. If you are cast, you will be required to become a Member of Metro Theatre

All cast and crew at Metro are expected to apply and comply with the Theatre’s policies and procedures on bullying and harassment, copies of which are posted at the Theatre and Scene Shop and also available on request.

the company lighting and sound operator. American accent. He is easily distracted and does many things he shouldn’t, including talking to the audience, when things go really sideways.

the head of the drama society. Plays Inspector Carter. He is rigid and uptight. He is the director of the show, and this is the biggest day of his life.

plays Charles Haversham, the deceased. Excited and having fun. He technically has to drive the show. He cares about the play, but it’s mostly just for fun for him.

plays Thomas Colleymoore, Charles’ old school friend. He does not feel bad when things go wrong and never learns from his mistakes.
Additional Characters

Dennis Tyde: male identifying (25-40) plays Perkins, Charles’ butler. He believes if he does well in the show, he’ll be more successful socially.

Max Bennett: male identifying (25-40) plays Cecil Haversham, Charles’ brother AND Arthur, the Gardener. Has never been on stage before. He learned his lines and does exactly what he’s told to do.

Sandra Wilkinson: female identifying (25-40) plays Florence Colleymoore, Charles’ fiancée and Thomas’ sister. Is vain and has a huge ego. Very physical role.

Two Stage Crew/Understudies: Open (25-40) the Cornley Polytechnic stage crew, both will perform as stage technicians and understudy multiple roles.
