Project Synopsis
Sierra has everything figured out. At least she’s convinced herself she does. Feeling dejected after an awkward encounter/almost meet-cute with a boy she thought would have made a wonderful friend. She’s faced with the fact that she may not be able to fit the ideal mold of herself that she’s been striving for since high school graduation. Feeling like there’s something deeply wrong with her, she turns to her best friends for comfort. They are the only people in the whole wide world she feels comfortable letting her guard down around, even if it’s totally embarrassing. Sierra is Asexual, she just doesn’t know it yet.
Additional Information & Safety Protocols:

Special consideration will be taken for indigenous actors and people who identify with LGBTQIA+ communities.

Character 1
Sierra
Age
Mid to Late 20s
Gender
Female
Description
Ethnicity—Half Indigenous, half Caucasian. Notes: Special consideration if you identify with the Aspec community. Character 2
Crystal
Age
Mid to Late 20s
Gender
Open
Description
Ethnicity—Indigenous. Notes: In the script Crystal is written with She/Her pronouns. While it is not a necessity -- we would like to find a non-binary or gender fluid actor to fill this role who is comfortable presenting femme. On the surface Crystal seems like the shy and reserved type with the way they carry themselves but upon further inspection it’s clear that Crystal is very grounded and secure with who they are. You’d never think it seeing them outside of the explicit content they create for their online persona—feeling more comfy in chunky sweaters while keeping the heavy winged eyeliner IRL—but they are in fact a sex worker. They do have good and bad days when it comes to their anxiety, but they’ve come a long way managing it. They are Pansexual and very comfortable with their sexuality and has quietly watched Sierra struggle with her’s since forever.
Character 3
Jaxon/Jax
Age
Mid to Late 20s
Gender
Male
Description
Enthnicity—Open. But special consideration for Indigenous actors. On the surface Jax seems like the most boring Guy Bro in all of existence. He’ll be the last to make an appearance at a party and the first to leave; dressed in black sweats and a grey t-shirt, then spend the majority of his time scrolling on his phone while leaning on a wall or claiming the comfiest chair. He is the epitome of Chill with a capital C. But the thing about Jax is that he only ever opens his mouth to add something of value to the conversation and makes a conscious effort not to speak for the sake of being heard. Secretly, Jaxon has been suffering from chronic pain after a vehicle accident where a drunk driver hit him while he was skateboarding. He doesn’t want to worry his friends since he’s always been the rock of their group, but he’s been struggling to manage it.
Character 4
Cecil
Age
Open
Gender
Open
Description
Info: Looking for a musician to play Cecil. Cecil doesn’t officially have a speaking roll. Must be able to play guitar. This role will require you to play guitar subtly matching the tone of the scene. Cecil is also here for comic relief and will require you to improvise a short “song”. (Lyrics provided) Cecil likes to play guitar. Cecil likes guitars more than they like people. None of the friends can remember where they first met Cecil—every time Cecil shows up they each SWEAR they didn’t invite them. Half the time they kind of wish Cecil would just leave. The best way to get Cecil to shut up is when they’re holding a guitar which can be pretty annoying when Cecil is learning a new riff.
