Project Synopsis
A fabulously fun award-winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde The Musical, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Action-packed and exploding with memorable songs and dynamic dances – this musical is so much fun, it should be illegal! Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend Warner dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school. While there, she struggles with peers, professors and her ex. With the support of some new friends, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.
Additional Information & Safety Protocols:

We seek to provide a showcase, a training ground and/or a great summer experience for performers and backstage crew. We welcome both emerging or amateur performers, who may have jobs and careers outside the theatre, and students of theatre who are looking to gain experience and showcase their talent in a working theatre environment.

Theatre Under the Stars encourages submissions from artists of all backgrounds, regardless of race, gender, national origin, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. When making casting decisions, the Creative Teams consider many different criteria; one is that we envision a cast that reflects the rich diversity of our performing arts community and of the communities across the Metro Vancouver area.

It is important to note that TUTS is a registered non-profit society, and primarily a volunteer organization. Equity artists in our productions act as mentors to our emerging and amateur artists.

While our summer season is (weather permitting) enthusiastically attended by thousands of patrons, the organization receives no significant grants or funding. We depend almost entirely on revenue from ticket sales to cover the substantial costs of mounting two major musicals each year. We could not do this without the contributions of 200+ volunteers, who donate their time and talent onstage, backstage and in the front-of-house.
