Project Synopsis
Massive Media, in partnership with Hagar International, is producing a powerful pro bono awareness campaign to highlight the issue of human trafficking in Southeast Asia, where individuals are forced into sending scam messages to extort money. Our project will depict "A Day in the Life," following two individuals in parallel: one, a North American recipient of scam texts, and the other, a trafficked individual in Southeast Asia who is coerced into sending them. This visual juxtaposition will emphasize the stark contrast between their lives while driving home the message that these texts reach us, meaning we have the power to take action and help stop this exploitation.
Additional Information & Safety Protocols:

We are looking for talented volunteers who are passionate about raising awareness about Human Trafficking.

Character 1
Young Woman
Age
18-30
Gender
Female
Description
(Southeast Asian) This young woman has been trafficked and forced into a life of digital exploitation. She sends scam messages under duress, working long hours in harsh conditions. Despite her dire circumstances, she embodies quiet strength, resilience, and a sense of dignity. Her daily routine is monotonous and controlled, with her freedom and hope stripped away. She is trapped, yet her eyes convey the longing for a better life and a deep sense of loss for the future she was denied. Though she is physically confined, her inner world tells a complex story of endurance, vulnerability, and unspoken dreams. Please note: This is a non-speaking role
Character 2
Background Characters
Age
18-35
Gender
Open
Description
(Southeast Asian Males/Females) These individuals are fellow victims of trafficking, working alongside the main character in the scam warehouse. Their daily lives revolve around the same monotonous and grueling tasks of sending scam messages under strict supervision. They have tired, worn expressions, reflecting exhaustion, hopelessness, and the weight of their circumstances. Some may show brief glimpses of camaraderie with one another, but the overwhelming atmosphere is one of fear, isolation, and control.
